Valentin Elias Renner

Valentin Elias Renner (b. 1998 in Ulm, Germany) is a visual artist based in Hamburg, Germany. His work expresses his fascination with discovering and creating worlds, through his preferred medium string art. The resulting artworks utilize the depth of space and create various effects inspired by fractal structures, multi-level realities, or string theory. Since childhood, Renner dreamed of traveling the world, discovering new places, and naming new animal species, inspired by historic explorers like Marco Polo. When he discovered Google Earth as a child, he realized that the Earth had already been fully mapped. However, his dream of exploration persisted, transforming into a creative expression through his art.

String art fascinates Renner because it allows him to create topographical landscapes that invite exploration beyond the flat surface. He says about his work that it “enables me to craft my own maps, my own lands, my own worlds, where I have complete control over what happens - worlds that have never existed before.” Through this process, he brings his dreams of discovery to life and invites others to journey into these unique worlds alongside him.
